    A Sad Morning

Feel your loss. We had a brother and sister from the same litter, only 3 years old. Came back with the kids before Xmas after a day seeing Santa to find the male (Pecan) paralysed and bleeding out in the lounge. God knows how he had got over our 2m fence but he obviously wanted to get home. The...

The Canon EOS 1Ds Mk II owners thread

Yep, I still own one, in fact it is my main camera. The only real disadvantage for me is the size of the screen and the lack of the micro-adjust that turned up in later models....oh and the fact it is heavy enough to beat a whale to death with

The "fine time piece" owners thread.

I seem to have a fascination for vintage chronographs. Currently wearing a proof/proof Seiko 6139-6000 yellow dial from 1969, but have a few others. My dream watch would be an Omega Speedmaster Professional Mark II racing dial though....way beyond my current means unfortunately

    One fact about yourself

Just spent too much time around high pressure piping systems, though helium would have been much more fun

    One fact about yourself

I used to get blown up.....a lot

Did You Give Your Children Unusual Names?

Thought my son's name, Temple, was unusual until we were in the park the other day and heard a grandfather yelling for his grandson Atticus. Guess the Romans are invading again

Any royal python owners / breeders on here

Amazing animals, not sure I could ever cope with that many snakes though. I only had 3 corn snakes when I kept reptiles

Did You Give Your Children Unusual Names?

Verity Rose and Temple Grey for ours. We had all sorts of names, many unusual, picked out (my other half even suggested Balthazar at one point) but these seemed to suit when we finally met the two little drains on our resources

    Have i a hacked problem

Had exactly the same one this morning. Looking at the email address usually gives it away, some random numbers and letters @'insert address of company here' always makes me suspicious. Have orderd things from Expert Shield but not for a while

    Career change at 32?

I changed my career at 34 years old. Went from being an engineer to a visual effects technical director for film. All it takes is a bit of risk, some commitment and the support of those around you. My other half told me I could do it, stood by me and encouraged me all the way despite the fact...

Splashed the cash, non photographic kit.

Always like the retro look of this watch....out of budget for me unfortunately. Congratulations! For now I'll stick with my 1969 proof/proof Seiko Pogue until I can afford a vintage Speedmaster

    Canon 85 prime (non L)

Some of my favourite pictures of the kids have been taken with this lens, well worth the relatively small outlay

    Other Hobbies?

Collecting original comic art, oh and more recently getting into vintage watches. Used to paint a lot of garage kits (resin monsters, sci-fi, film characters etc, called garage kits as they used to be made in peoples garages) for displays and commissions but have no room for that currently...
