Canon 300mm f/4 prime lens for nature work

I bought a Canon 300mm f/4 IS today - for me the ability to focus down to 1.5m is going to be useful for 'macro' and I already have the 1.4x TC The IS is a useful addition but if I had been after a lens that would be used mainly for bird photography I think I would probably have gone for the...

    Cheeky Damsel

Great photo. I'm struggling just to get shots technically correct with the MP-E. This shot ticks all the boxes.

Macro Lens for Canon 7d mkii

I have the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 (non OS) - great quality, useful extra reach - particularly good for dragonflies. Downside is that it's just a bit on the heavy side.

    Stacker software recommendations for Mac

I just installed a trial version of Zerene Stacker Seems pretty good, but how does it compare to other focus stacking utilities on Mac

Some recent Insect Shots with the MPE-65

Awe-inspiring set Mike Even with my 150mm I have trouble getting close to those damsel flies. I read somewhere that going out just after dawn the beasties are cold and stay still for longer. Any tips for just getting close without spooking them ?

    The Official Fuji X10/X20/X30/XF1/XQ1 Thread

I've been following this thread for a few weeks and had just about decided to take the plunge when Fuji announced they would be making a 'definitive statement'. So then it was back to sitting on the fence waiting for 'the announcement' . . . Now that it's clear a free sensor...

Any Netflix users on here ?

My broadband speed is usually around 0.9MBps and BBC iPlayer generally stops and starts. I was very surprised to find that Netflix streamed with no problems at all - even with other people in the house using the bandwidth. The problem for me is that there is not a big enough selection of films...

    Karting... First Attempt

I agree with the others - a fine collection and #4 is great. For me #1 is stunning - it has perfectly captured the speed of the kart. That guy is flying !
