After a few days of use, looks like I'm satisfied with the images - for my use. I am sure a DSLR with an expensive lens will beat it, but for watching on a screen and the versatility without having to carry heavy kits, this seems the perfect compromise.

Where do you find the RX10 for £700? Grey import you mean?

The Sony RX10, seems like a good option for someone who does not want to carry a heavy DSLR body + many lenses but requires reasonable image quality, ideally for travel. Have been looking at options like Panasonic FZ200, Nikon P7700, Fuji's and mirrorless but, there is nothing like the RX10...

I've read that the 35mm is equally sharp. Using a FF or Crop sensor?

Is the Nikon 50mm that much better?
