    Viewfinder SOS (Nikon D6)

Thank you, you star! I’d forgotten all about that; the only other time, I could only see the shutter, which made it rather obvious. Thanks so much!

    Viewfinder SOS (Nikon D6)

Thank you; at the time, I also had a dysfunctional D5 (MPB) and 70-200mm (also MPB), so it was Wex who recommended Cameratiks; Wex effectively told me that I could either have the D5 body repaired with Wex or elsewhere, urging the latter. I’ll check the T&Cs and get some insurance! Edit: and...

    Viewfinder SOS (Nikon D6)

Thank you so much, that was it! I didn’t realise that was it because the view was black and not of the blind - phew! I don’t know how it got dislodged, but one of the kids did run into my camera shortly before. Phew and thanks again!

    Viewfinder SOS (Nikon D6)

Thank you so much! Aye, it’s down, and I’ve checked it against the D5’s mirror, just in case.

    Viewfinder SOS (Nikon D6)

Hi all, This problem happened at 11pm today, so I’ve spent over three hours trying to read up on what it could be, and I’m still stumped. I bought a secondhand Nikon D6 from Wex late last year. Had endless problems with it which Wex couldn’t diagnose, and which turned out to be a wonky...

    Gear losing value?

Aye, that was the intention - I purposely bought both cameras in excellent condition with very low actuations, intending them to be keepers. Especially the D6 - I justified it only because of all the overtime I was having to put in at my then day job, and what it would have cost me to go to a...

    Gear losing value?

Thank you so so much to all of you for your input, and ARGH! I was also counting on being able to sell them for a similar value to cover rent and bills if needed - my last day job ended nearly two months ago, and there's no photography work for me here for now. Nikons are mandatory for...

    Gear losing value?

I upgraded my camera gear last year but now I want to switch to mirrorless, so I've been looking into selling my cameras and lenses, and looking what they're selling for, and I'm shocked that they've dropped in value by so much in such a short space of time! Is it normal for camera equipment to...

    Hi from Scotland

Hello, I'm also from Scotland - what do you think of your R6 II so far? I'm so keen to switch to it from Nikon.

What was your first camera ?

This one was mine - great as a starter camera, not so great if you wanted your photos to actually be of anything except lots and lots and lots of noise (the negatives were microscopic).

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

I'm a dance photographer, which means that Nikons are mandatory. Well, Nikon DSLRs, at least. I've recently upgraded from a Nikon D800 (10 years old) to a D5 and a D6, but as soon as I can take a break between shoots, I'm switching to a Canon R6 II (don't tell any of the other dance...

Wheres the best place to sell a camera ?

I know that this is an old thread, but I wanted to contribute re MPB. I recently bought a Nikon D5 and D6, 24-70mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8, but I've decided to go mirrorless, largely due to MPB's equipment (D5, 70-200) and Wex's camera (D6) both being faulty and costing a small fortune to repair...
