    crow's

I like number 1 cos of the feather detail. Not often one sees that with a crow. But should the title be Crows as the plural of crow is crows

Not that far from you is Gauntlet http://www.gauntlet.info/ Not far from junction 19 on the M6. They also do photography days where they fly and pose birds indoors and outdoors. The cafe is pretty good as well. well worth the trip.

    Honda S2K

Nice motor-car - I am thinking of buying one. However, as to your photograph. Not sure if the car was properly cleaned before shooting or if there are paint blemishes around the grillle. Could do with a little touching up. I am not sure the photo does "anything" for me. Good record shot.

    Who ate all the pies?

No 2 is lovely. The background compliments the bird quite wonderfully.

Blue tit, Chaffinch + sparrowhawk (crop)

The BT is wonderful. The green background compliments the bird beautifully. I bet it went quiet when the hawk was spotted.

Great spotted woodpecker, Goldfinch & Chaffinch

What a lovely set (x2). Gives me something to aspire to with my 400mm.

    Goldfinch

I am afraid I agree with Donna particularly re the frame. Nice little bird though.

    My Guardian Angel

Lovely. Are they large crops or is he very tame? At 135mm you can't have been very far from him.

    Chaffinches.

They are lovely. The bokeh (how I hate that word, there must be an English equivalent) is beautifully smooth.

Very nice. Well thought out that one.

    Short eared owl

I really like these shots. What is particularly nice is that you have managed to avoid the jesses so that the bird does not look obviously captive.

    Short eared owl

I recently used a tripod when photographing captive birds. The improvement in IQ was noticeable when using a 400mm prime.

    Chroicocephalus ridibundus X2

Lovely. I think I would struggle to separate these two although I find the background of 1 a little distracting. I would be delighted with either if I had taken them.

First timer Birds of prey centre

Wonderful shots of the birds in flight. I have tried to get these and have never got acceptable images. They are incredibly difficult you did very well.

400mm Canon / Canon fit lens advice

Sorry, I managed to post a reply before I finished typing and then lost the edited version. Anyway, When faced with the same dilemma, I found for wildlife photography length is everything. Lots of people use the 100-400 at the 400 end. The obvious choices are the zoom, the 400 prime or the...
