I just checked out your Flickr and your images are beautiful. Do you mind me asking if you create HDR for many of your landscapes? The colours are fantasic - would love to get an insight into how you achieve the results you do? You can check my shots out on Flickr if you like (member...

    Home-made Macro Lighting = £3.30

Hey guys, So sorry for delayed response, been quite busy at work lately. Just to try and answer some questions: You can get clear Perspex in any art shop, that's where I got mine; or... You could buy a few cheap ring binder or similar from any stationary shop and just cut the front and back...

    EF-S to EF Converter?

True, very true. Just wanted to see if I could easily get a wide-angle solution on the cheap to decide how much I would actually use it and as a stop gap before spending anymore money. I know you're right though. Will just have to wait for a while.

    EF-S to EF Converter?

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure that the answer is no...but does anyone know of any way of converting the newer canon EFS lenses to the previous EF mount? Would save me a few hundred pounds for a super-wide angle as I've just got hold of my 1st full frame. Fingers crossed, Thanks guys

    Home-made Macro Lighting = £3.30

Wanted to resurrect this post as I've finally got around to developing the idea; and here it is: I did some research into how people got some amazing macro images and someone really kindly posted up an amazing video showing someone capturing awesome images. He used a homemade softbox so I got...

    Homemade Macro Softbox?

Hey guys, I'm planning on making a small Softbox attached directly onto my flash for some macro photography, and just wondered if anyone could suggest the best material for the diffusing screen? I know that milk bottles or similar is one option, but I think I may need a larger sheet size; have...

How on earth do you create these kind of images?

You can, although, like in the image above, thnk it will need to be diffused in some way. Bouncing off a ceiling may not give enough light as you might be shooting at around f/16 @ 1/200 s?

How on earth do you create these kind of images?

I can answer... a focussing rail is a rail that attaches between your tripod and camera base, and it allows you to move your camera back and forth by minute amounts. It basically allows you to focus really accurately as when you're magnified so much, you have such a tiny depth of field that you...

How on earth do you create these kind of images?

Thanks Sledger, that's awesome. Have watched the video but need to watch again (not at work) with audio. Awesomt to see that he's taking those images with a reversed lens and not one of the dedicated macro lenses - I have some hope that if I practice practice practice I might get there one...

How on earth do you create these kind of images?

Chilling... I get it. Thanks so much for all of your help. Really appreciate it. Maybe I should start to think about a real macro lens as opposed to reversing etc. food for thought.
