    Milky Way from an aircraft

Taken from a B757. It takes quite a few attempts to get the shots, they are from 8-13 secs, so any turbulence during the exposure ruins the shot.

    Milky Way from an aircraft

Hi Folks. I've not been on here for a while, been distracted by doing some writing for a change, and didn't do a lot of photography in the last few years. However, I've been doing some more experimentation with shooting the Milky Way from an aircraft, and thought I would share a couple of recent...

Wild Shortlisted for the British Photography Awards

Nice image. Just a thought, but the 4 comps I have been shortlisted for in the past prohibited me from sharing the shortlisted images until judging was finished? Are you sure you should be posting it yet?

Notice TP 52'ers challenge for 2019 Discussion thread Week 52 Out takes

Hi folks, I am going to have to drop out (again). A combination of it being the busy season at work, losing the charger for my computer (still not replaced), a lot of motorcycle maintenance (3 bikes), and extensive renovations to the house which I am doing myself, have conspired to stop me using...

    Jon's 2019 52- Week 17-Light and Week 18-Crowded

Week 17- Light and Week 18-Crowded Well, a bit late, but here's my entry for Light- in this case, a solar power plant that uses light to generate electricity. I have had to abandon using legacy lenses for all my shots, as I won't be able to catch up if I do, as I use a 24-70mm lens at work. I...

    Jon's 2019 52- Week 17-Light and Week 18-Crowded

Thanks for all the comments, folks, I've not been too good at commenting myself, not had much time for anything recently, with work and a motorcycle trip to the Lakes getting in the way. I will try and remedy that, and catch up on comments. Thanks, folks! It was fun taking it, had to use...

Notice TP 52'ers challenge for 2019 Discussion thread Week 52 Out takes

I am going to make an effort to catch up properly in the next week, both in posting the two entries I'm behind on, and commenting on other folks images. I see that on the spreadsheet my entry for Hot has not been marked as completed?

Why new lenses doesn't have "fidelity" aka they are s***!

Hmm...personally I prefer just to use a lens, and if I like it then continue to use it, rather than pontificate and draw diagrams.

    Jon's 2019 52- Week 17-Light and Week 18-Crowded

I have been struggling a bit with time, Easter is one of the busiest times of year work wise. So here's a catch up for Hot. This weeks lens was a Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Orestor 100mm f2.8 with 16mm extension tube. Hot by Jon, on Flickr
