    Nikon D800......

I was wondering what you chaps would recommend for a substitute for a 80-400 VR for a D800. I want to use it for trackside motorsport so would prefer the AF to be fairly quick but I can’t afford to spend much more than £500 ish. I don’t really read reviews and such so don’t know what the best...

Has anybody gone back to their DSLR?

I purchased a Fuji X-T3 + 10-24,18-55, 55-200 earlier this year with a view of weight saving more than anything. I have a Nikon D800 with 24-70 2.8 and a D300 with a few other lenses. I have to say I found the Fuji disappointing when it came to motorsport. The viewfinder just cant keep up with...

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I can't afford any more lenses at the moment but would have thought the 55-200 should have coped OK. Im going to see if the higher speed cards make a difference but I'm not too hopeful. I'm reluctant to invest any more to be honest, may just sell up and buy a Z6, at least I can use my existing...

    Nikon D800......

You could always use a monopod, but justpix has the right idea. I've never had a problem not using a tripod and I'm a shaky old bugger.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I'm fairly new (6 months) to the X-T3 but my experience isn't particularly good unfortunately. I have been a Nikon person for many years namely D300 / D800 and really like the output from these. I shoot a lot of motorsports for my own use really but to me the Fuji just doesn't cut it. The...

No I don’t think so but I don’t shoot any video so didn’t think they were necessary.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Has anyone had the error message to restart the camera (X-T3)? I was trying to take pictures on Sunday at Silverstone with a 55-200mm lens and kept getting this message. Camera was also very unresponsive on focussing and I missed loads of shots. It wouldn't run in CH CL mode without blacking out...

    Backup software

For windows, just use the built in windows backup and run it on a schedule. For Mac use Time Machine.

    Upgrading LR and Catalog files

To Conclude, I installed the new version of Lightroom on the new Mac and then copied the old LR4 catalog file to the same location as the newly installed version. Then put my pictures in the same file structure as the old Mac. Opened the new Lightroom, and told it which catalog file to use. Hey...

    Upgrading LR and Catalog files

I want a clean install so a Time Machine restore isn’t the answer. I’ll ditch most of the old Apps anyway apart from Office 2016 and a new copy of the subscribed Lightroom. The new iMac is brand new so it’s already the latest release, however my old Mac is stuck on El Capitan and won’t go any...

    Upgrading LR and Catalog files

Thanks for the reply. I’ll give it a go when my Mac arrives.

    Upgrading LR and Catalog files

I am doing a major upgrade from a 12 year old iMac with LR4 to a new iMac. I want to install the new LR Classic and photoshop versions on the new iMac and obviously want to import all my old pictures etc into the new version. These pictures are stored on an Airport device. Does anyone know if...

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Not sure if I’m in the right place to ask but does anyone know if anyone makes a converter to fit a mixture of DX and FX Nikon lenses on the X-T3. I have a Nikon D800 and D300 with some nice lenses that would be useful.
