I have the 18-250 Sigma on a D3200 and it will autofocus, so yes, you have answered your own question. They are a good value lens and reasonably sharp.

They are wild and live near the Needles. There are a few out there and were being hand fed.

Handle bar tape for road bikes could be another option, especially if you are after a certain colour.

Stihl every time. I bought a Stihl HS45, its the low end model in their range. It does the job better than the cheaper mountfield I bought a few years ago. I have a Stihl strimmer from the 90's that still starts and runs well.
