On a close up like that it's not a problem, when the subject is further away 2.8 sometimes looks really nice.

Wow, i can't believe people are reporting this already, i'm only after a bit of advice and stuff. Also a friendly community of photographers to mingle with but obviously people are quick to jump on the gun and report. I'm sorry if i bent the rules or have offended anyone!

Yes i understand that, i have seen the sigma 300 2.8 going for <700 and the 120-300 2.8 going for <800 non os version. That's my sort of price range.

Yeah it would be, but i just can't justify spending that much at the minute with other commitments i have on going :-( I would really like an f2.8 aperture. I didn't want to stop lower than f4 thats why i'm not just getting a converter. I need the shallow depth of field. The reviews i've read...
