    canon 7d

Hi Russ77, how do you find the 7D with the 100-400 for reach when shooting cricket? I'm currently using a 30D & 100-400 but this year find having some reach issues, so looking at a 7D to help e.g. via cropping but using the pixel increase of the 7D to keep image quality rgds Gary

    Sports (cricket) Tele Zoom Lens....

i've been finding very recently that even with a 100-400mm Canon, i'm starting to be a bit reach limited. Son has been playing for Yorkshire U11's this year :D , and the boundries have been longer meaning further away from wicket - and more cropping (using a 30D body). Can't afford next lens...

    Schumacher Cougar 2

Ah! memories :) Used to race these, albeit the cougar mk1 (think i was one of the first people in the north west to get one IIRC) purchased mine from Top Models in Mold sometime around 88-89' i think it was, had a Cat also (and quite a few others along the way also). I fitted a Hyperdrive...

    Upgradeing kit lens

i upgraded my 18-55 non IS with the 17-55 IS USM Canon that StewartR suggested - nice lens, fast, light (although not really had chance to put it through it paces fully yet). Reason for this is that i've already got a 100-400 and was looking at getting a 50-150 sigma so that i'd have 17-400...

    Redsnapper Tripods & Head

got my redsnapper 283 & rhs-12 ballhead a couple of months ago - it's amazing what a decent tripod is like compared to my old one. Very stable, excellent quality (only thing missing from ballhead is a spiritlevel) can't fault either items, and a pretty good price too - well worth it :) Gary

    70-300 VR ED AF-S F4.6-F5.6G OR SIGMA DG 70 -200 f2.8

if it was me, then i'd choose the Sigma 70-200 and ise it with the 1.4x converter when needed. Don't think the VR on the nikon would make up that much for the f/2.8 on the sigma - but who knows, i'm a canon user lol :) Gary

For the Non Pros, do you keep any prints?

print a lot of ours, wife loves doing photo albums to look back on, also provides some sort of backup facility if the hd/dvd/mem stick fails. we have a fair few albums now, showing the kids (11 & 7) growing up - it's great to get the albums out once in a while and look thru them Gary

    A wee drop o' milk

manual focus part is actually quite easy. I just use a pen or something to point to the area/location the drops are going to land, then manual focus on that - seems to work pretty well. color in your image looks great, very creamy (lol), like the way you've managed to capture the main drop...
