    Lens glass cleaner advice

I use the Zeiss glasses wipes after gentle air. They are throw away and can clean your phone screen, glasses etc.

    Recommend me a portable backdrop

Yes....stands like these. They are light duty but work more importantly for me light and portable. http://biSPAM/1ggNeHV http://biSPAM/GOQrye You can make grey background any color you want. http://youtu.be/JDGn4VzEOlU

    Recommend me a portable backdrop

I just use a neutral gray 10x20 long muslin that is stuffed in a sack. It hangs on 7' stands with the sectioned poles in between. Use shallow DOF and subject distance to background to blur it. Very inexpensive on the Bay and portable. Use 3 speed lights and 3 shoot thru umbrellas. Can't...

    3rd Party Flashguns

I have and use a Youngnuo 468ii both on and off camera. It works well with wansen remote triggers off my Canon 1000d. Exposure is pretty close but it is ettl so you can use exposure compensation and it's head is auto zoom

    Grey muslin background

I prefer muslin in 10' x 20'. You can also get a hand held steamer to "iron" it while hanging prior to use.

    Canon 50mm 1.8

Thanks VirtualAdept, I'll get a new host or upload to my own domain. I think for a mere 100 bux I'll pick the 50mm up as it will let me play with DOF that the 18-55 can't do. It should open a few more doors for me like the speedlights and umbrellas did.
