Put the camera in manual and use the meter scale in the viewfinder or on the back of the camera after pressing info, then adjust the apperture/shutter speed/ISO accordingly to get correct exposure.
With the D7100 24mp, you need to sharpen the photos. Sharpen the above and more detail will be shown in the wood and greater seperation in the grass will also show up. The D7100 has such high pixel density it benefits from sharpening in most circumstances.
Since the beginning of SLR's and then DSLR's and mirrorless the problem has always been the shutter system.
That has now all gone.
This Sony makes all the above obsolete and in a nutshel a defective camera.
Why buy a camera that cannot sync at any speed and has banding and rolling shutter...
