    F&C meet up 18th May 2024

Is there enough in Castleton to just all park at the visitor centre and just wander in Castleton for much of the day?

This hostelry looks quite nice. https://yorkshirebridgeinn.co.uk/ Not too far from Ladybower. Probably walkable.

    'Lost' camera repairers

Blimey. That's a surprise but I did hear a few mutterings of them being a bit useless but that was a long time ago.

    Rapid weight loss?

That’s quick if you are eating the same. Thyroid issue maybe? My aunt had it but it took a while to diagnose.

A night of photography on BBC4. Easter Monday.

Just seen the Tish documentary. Never heard of her before which I see was a mistake. Very interesting woman. Good point about history not being just about the rich.

    Film Developing in the UK

With filmdev I just tell them if there's been anything odd with the film eg film speed set wrong or it's very OOD. They did my geriatric Jessops film that had been in a hot loft for a decade or more. Turned out ok.

    Rechargeable vacuum cleaners - recommendations?

I got a light corded bagless one a couple of years ago. It's really quiet too. The cordless ones are all gutless compared to the mains power ones unless you spend a fortune. The only things I don't like about it are the hose arrangement and storage on the unit is completely deranged and the...

Apple air play terrible on Monterey?

It's back to being rubbish again. Have to keep restarting the music app to make it play at all. Did think it might be because one of the homepods decided to log out of iTunes and that showed up on the Home app. Worked ok for about a week and today it's back to being useless.

Suggestion on which MF to get - up to £500 (ish)

I have an automat. It's geriatric but you can get replacement finders and mirrors so they have a much clearer finder. I did both on mine so it's a lot easier to use. It's nice and light too. Another vote for the Automat :)

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I’m happy with A mount. No plans to replace any and they work on the dynax 9 film camera I have too. I did consider the a99ii. I may revisit it. The A7c appeals the most as it’s already a bit lighter to offset the adapter.
