First ever portrait / maternity shoot and I take back everything I’ve ever said . . .

No 4 is my favourite - the little boy's expression is lovely!

    Beautiful - especially no 3!

    My first portraits

First one is great - especially just the eye being in focus, very 'Clockwork Orange' :o)

    Wild Child!

Black and white version is cute, but I kinda liked all the colours in the first one - with the crazy hair they added to a really 'fun' shot :o)

    Borough Market

Lovely, especially the fruit and veg stall - so much depth and interest to the picture:o)

    A panning self portrait.

Pic 1 is fab - love the way your face (esp eyes) are in sharp focus, but the top of the head / ears / background is blurred - cool!

    Your Comments are greatly received

The light in pic 2 is great - love the shadow effects on the model's face :o)

    Full vs Partial Frame Size

Hi I'm thinking of buying a new camera (as my current Panasonic Lumix FZ38 doesn't have hot shoe) and have been advised to consider 'full vs partial frame size'. But I'm not entirely sure what this means - could someone advise which is best for portraiture please? Thanks very much

    New & intrigued!

Hi everyone - congratulations on a great site :o) I've been playing around with a Panasonic Lumix FZ38 for a few months, and have managed to get some good shots (more luck than judgement it has to be said!). Recently did a local weekend course in 'portraits and lighting' which I really enjoyed...
