I'm going to the lakes tomorrow for 2 nights staying in ambleside youth hostel. What would be the best places to go for sunrise shots that wouldn't take too long to get to from ambleside?
She is a canny egg. I will make it up to her don't worry. Will have a look at Capture One for noise reduction. will have a look at my wife's work rota. I am off every weekend, but she works a lot of them so I would have to take the bairn. Not easy mixing photography and looking after a 3 year old

Will have a look at those settings and that book. I was given adobe cc subscription for a year for Christmas (my wife is very supportive) so am not looking to spend on software. How is adobe's noise reduction by comparison? Will give the Sony capture one a crack though.

Well that decision was taken out my hands, as my wife bought me an A77ii for my birthday. Lovely camera and definitely a massive improvement on the A700. Disappointed to miss out on the low light noise performance of a good full frame camera, but I don't think the A99 was ever going to do that...

I was pleased with them too. The one of Lynne was initially a bit disappointing as I had my 105mm prime on but wanted to get more of the lake in the view. However, a little a bit of cropping and it looks lovely as is. Almost deliberate ☺
