New to the forum . I am probably going to lurk for while and get to know the place before I post much. Not new to Fora in general, I moderate a watch forum. Watches are my main malady. I am very keen to improve my macro skills, and editing Most of last year I was using a Sony NEX 7. Now I have gone full frame,Sony A7R, and realising, (just like when I moved from 35mm to 2 1/4 square in the film days) that the larger format is a little unforgiving. I did expect this and am very much in need of cleaning up my technique anyway. Hoping that Talkphotography will help me to share my experiences and learn. I have much to learn.

Welcome aboard the good ship TP, it's a great community with a lot of knowledge to be passed on, though it sounds like you've got some to pass on too, so looking forward to seeing you getting involved on the forum...a treasured heirloom of mine is my Grandads Pocket Watch :) I love taking photos of it, looking forward to seeing some of your collection :)

Most of all have a lot of fun round here as you'll never meet a nicer bunch on photography nutters

Here is one I took today. The difficult part with photographing watches is losing the reflection from the glass . 1 sec at F22 using the Sigma 105mm macro.
