I've recently had it confirmed that I'll be working with the Isle of Anglesey AONB on a series of completely free photo trails/workshops around the island... these dates will soon be advertised on the official Visit Wales/Anglesey websites so they may book up very quickly.. maximum group size is 8 people. Workshops will run from 10.30am until 4pm and do involve some coastal walking.

Sat 12th July - Llanddwyn
Sat 26th July- Breakwater Country Park
Sat 2nd August - Penmon/Llangoed
Sat 16th August - South Stack
Sat 20th September - Swtan/Carmel Head

The workshops are part of the Anglesey AONB activities to promote the island and its fantastic coastal scenery. To make a booking you need to contact the Anglesey AONB Project Officer directly.. full contact details are here: http://www.anglesey.gov.uk/planning...nding-natural-beauty-aonbs/the-anglesey-aonb/

Just an update.. nearly all the workshops are now fully booked, a couple of places left on some but the Anglesey AONB team have agreed to allow another couple of participants on each day so anyone interested probably needs to get that booking in pretty quick !!

I've put my name down this afternoon - not heard anything back yet.

Simon.. What does the day include? I am booked on July 26th

Look forward to meeting everyone on the days.. the workshops are designed to be quite informal/flexible as people attending have a wide range of abilities/experience.

On the structured side of things I go through things like basic camera controls.. aperture/shutter speed/iso and checking exposure, filter choice - why/when you might use them

The remaining time is me catching up with people on a 1-2-1 basis to go through anything more specific they'd like to cover.

A member of the Isle of Anglesey AONB team is always on hand too and they're extremely knowledgeable on the Islands history, flora/fauna etc so it all should make for an enjoyable day out on the wonderful Anglesey coastline.

Regarding availability I believe all the workshops were fully booked after the first week or so but PM me and I can pass on the AONB contact details to anyone who might still want to enquire, there could be the possibility of squeezing an extra person onto one or two of the days

I got an email from AONB team today and the only space was on July 26, which I booked :)
Now to find a B & B / pub

There's plenty of B&Bs in Holyhead itself which would be walking distance to the workshop, around Trearddur Bay is a bit nicer area to stay and a couple of decent pubs too.
