As per the title -
Who listens to music when do big work stream edits? I find myself listening to music by Jan Hammer. It seems to put my brain into the right frame of mind for editing.

what does everyone else listen to?

I often listen to podcasts or random tunes on SoundCloud, nice way to discover something new or eclectic which I can then make reference to when chatting with my hipster film-shooting friends.

My iTunes library is always on shuffle, so it could go from some classical music, to Pink Floyd, to some George Carlin stand-up then on to Led Zeppelin.

Basically, anything in my iTunes, I don't have a specific editing playlist. :coat:

The Blue Nile (Hats, HIgh) Craig Armstrong (Piano Works, Film Works, As if to nothing, The Space Between Us), David Sylvian (Everything and Nothing) great for getting in the right frame of mind. Not too intrusive but creates nice ambience.

Last FM and my favs list usually Paul Weller Dire Straits Beautiful South, you get the idea.:)

I have been listening to OF Monsters and Men this week while doing mine.

Usually just something to relax the mind. Cant beat a bit of Fleetwood Mac for editing.

And no, I dont use a Fleetwood Mac-Book pro ;)

I tune into chill, nearly every day, used to be on dab, but now only available on london dab, or internet. shame really.
The band I came across just recently, is London Grammar, awesome music and Hannah Reid the singer has my jaw dropping and takes me away.

I do as little PP as possible, generally aiming for none other than a resize/crop before printing so I tend not to bother with music as well, although I sometimes have the hi-fi playing downstairs while I'm setting things going, Nothing in particular to help me while I'm "working", just the iPod on shuffle.

Ditto.

I aim to spend as little time as possible at the computer for any given job.

Silence for me. I used to listen to music all the time now I don't find the need really.

How? Not even background noise like the TV?

For me it's usually a bit of post rock. Explosions in the sky, Sigur Ros, This will destroy you etc. But recently I've been listening to a lot of Jimmy eat world again. If it's not music then a podcast involving Karl Pilkington (the older XFM stuff that I'm new to is the best).
