Lasaoren. How do I remove it?

Yes
Lasaoren is a browser hijacker that has appeared for some reason. I've run Malawarebites as suggested by Cobra, and that removed the associated bits that came with it. But the browser hijacker remains.
I've done a google and that gives me some removal tools, but I've no idea if they are safe to use or just more hijacking sites.

Anyone know how to safely remove this from my browsers?

Err no idea. I just downloaded it and hit the start button. Done that twice now.

Well I think it's cleared. A bit of lateral thinking went on. I think this was downloaded with a supposedly safe download I was trying. So I went onto Norton and have just had one of their guys playing with my machine. He kept finding bits of this in all sorts of places. All now seem to have been removed by him and everything appears to be back to normal.
He reckons it's not a virus as such, it just allows pop ups - which I was getting - though my browser. They might contain nasty things.
Time will tell. Thanks for your suggestions.

i think what he's saying is norton let it on in the first place.

and malwarebytes is one of the better scanners out there, not sure why it didnt work for you. note that it will only remove the program and not any settings it put in place.

But the guys at Norton did remove it for me. I watched them playing with my machine, and there's no way I (a non geek) could have begun to do what they did. I wouldn't have been able to follow instructions to do what they did if someone on here had posted what to do. It's above my salary level!

You may not like Norton, and they are generally rubbished by the "experts" on here, but I'm just Joe Public with no knowledge of how a PC works so I must thank Norton for sorting me out.

FWIW Norton say that Lasaoren is not actually a virus or Malaware. I don't know what the definitions are, but it merely acts by taking over the browser. I could see that even after I'd removed the programme. Then it lets nasty things in. Or so I'm told. I don't understand all this, and don't want to understand it. I'm happy to pay a small amount for someone to look after me. Norton are doing that, and I thank them. That might not be popular with the afroresaid experts, but it works for me so I'm happy to stick with it.

Then if you're happy with what they've done and you're all OK it seems they were the right choice for you.

It may not have been a virus, there are lots of dodgy websites (football streaming , film download and porn sites) that will if you click the wrong boxes install browser add ons that allow popups, redirects etc. They are not actually damaging to your computer or data just annoying. Luckily they are easy to remove but the less technical computer user automatically usually assumes their computer is infected with viruses, then are confused when they anti malware software finds nothing.

Sounds just like me!!!

ADWCleaner is a useful little tool to complement Malwarebytes.
