Junior rugby

My lad plays u10's and a few times a year I tend to go and take shots for his team and the parents (I've been using my 60D and a 70-200 f4).

I really could do with something a bit longer than the 200 as it means I'm usually up and down the touch line to keep within range of the play. Can I ask those that do it regular what sort of focal length is better? Weighing in around the £900 mark is the 300 f4 or the 400 f5.6 so they would really be my choices.

You can get a 100-400 L for that money. Still a great lens.

Cheers. I generally go down on one knee when taking the shot, but might try sitting on the dead ball line next game, just worries I might be a bit too far from the action.
