I have sourceD a printer for some location printing - its a loaner so I cant get it until a week before - I am about to buy a new laptop Now this was going to be just a simple slip in bag slim 13 inch notebook - But it occurred to me that I will need to tether the camera to LR for printing and so I though what could I use for this purpose? I have seen it done with the 22 inch imac - is this the best way to go or would a laptop do the job? I have looked at some HP 17.3 inch screen laptops as a do it all option but just not sure what to do - I have never done tethered capture and on site printing before so some pointers would be good. Especially with regard what you use for the PC side of things....

TIA

Laptop is no issue, with lightroom and the Friedl plugin.
Check printer model before choosing laptop, drivers not available for windows 8 for some older dye sub printers

Thanks for the reply and the Friedl site is a good resource - Thanks!

What size screen do you have - I am looking at a 17 inch laptop as a do it all on site and when on a shoot for backup and whatnot.....

We now have laptop plus external monitor for each viewing station. Monitor calibrated and printer profiled means they get on print what they see on the screen. Also lets us do all the tweaking on the laptop and they only see the large image at all times

You can attach a monitor to your laptop.
