Yes
......or maybe not ...... it is Facebook ;)

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section

I don't use facebook but sometimes follow a link, ect, to look at something. The last couple of times I've got the page below

I run firefox and its updated to the latest version. I'm not very computer literate but can usually bumble mi way through so any advice needs to be in a 'dummies guide form' please. I've had a Google and found a couple of suggestions but they didn't make sense  thanks in advance :)

also what if any firewalls are you using? there were some industry changes to SSL this week. might be your FW needs updating to reflect this.

Thanks for reply Neil, yes clicking on the link above just gives me the same 'secure connection failed' page. Only firewall I have running is windows.

As an after thought I tried Internet Explorer instead of Firefox and it loaded FB no problem so it must be something that's changed in my Firefox settings

what does c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts contain?

Only firewall I have running is windows.

That is not a great practice. You are probably OK, if you have new up to date and well configured router, but probably not...

.

This is mi first stumbling block because I don't understand what you mean.......how do I check what it contains? Thanks

As mentioned above, FB loads ok on Internet Explorer just not on Firefox.

which would rule out a hosts issue.

id put money on something related to this weeks SSL/TLS changes and your browser.

A bit more digging on Google last night and apparently you are correct Neil (y) ( not like I understand it! :D)

Apparently I have to uninstall FF, reinstall it and all my troubles will be over .........yeh right
