True, let's hope JB does something similar next season,
And got his ass handed to him on a plate!
And got his ass handed to him on a plate!
Are we sure it was Mclarean that wanted Alonso or did Mr Honda have a say such as get us a top driver for our engine and the only one available was Alonsoreally surprised McLaren would have him back after that season...
I see Bernie is at it again

Ignoring the fact that by his own admission he has removed two teams last year, he looks hell bent on getting rid of mercedes and Honda leaving him with his dream of a ferrari / red bull spectacular both with ferrari engines as they will be the only engine manufacturer left
I worked for a boss who said things like this and was still saying them when they invited him down to London and to bring his car keys with him

http://www.espn.co.uk/ferrari/motorsport/story/187495.htmlFormer Sauber driver Esteban Gutierrez has joined Ferrari as the team's test and reserve driver.
Gutierrez was dropped by Sauber along with 2014 team-mate Adrian Sutil in favour of Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr, a decision the team admitted was down to "financial considerations". He has been picked up by Ferrari, where he will complement Kimi Raikkonen and new signing Sebastian Vettel.
Gutierrez admits he cannot wait to get started at a team steeped in so much history.
"It is an honour to become part of the Scuderia Ferrari family, a team with such an exceptional history," Gutierrez said. "It is for me the beginning of a new path for my future and I'm going to do my utmost to contribute to the achievement of the targets set by the Scuderia.

By Andrew BensonChief F1 writer
Ferrari have parted company with two more major figures as their year of turmoil takes another turn.
Engineering director Pat Fry and chief designer Nikolas Tombazis have paid the price for years of sub-standard cars and are to leave the team.
They are the latest changes in 2014 that has seen Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo, two team principals and Fernando Alonso leave.
Alonso moved to McLaren having lost faith that Ferrari could win titles.
The Spanish two-time world champion, granted a release from his contract two years early at his request, has been replaced by four-time champion Sebastian Vettel, who will partner Finn Kimi Raikkonen in 2015.
Technical director James Allison will take over Fry's role running trackside engineering on an interim basis.
Formula E is quite unbelievable! The desperate hype surrounds what is effectively indoor karting for professional racing drivers and teams at a cost of £500,000 a race!!
Last year's Formula 1 embraced rather more significant green technology but, for political reasons, hardly anyone is being told about that!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30533943Sebastian Vettel's decision to leave Red Bull was influenced by the pace of his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo, team boss Christian Horner says.
The German, who won four titles with Red Bull from 2010-14, has joined Ferrari after a year in which Ricciardo won three races and Vettel none.
Horner says Ricciardo was "probably a factor" in Vettel's decision.
And he said the Australian's overtake of Vettel at the Italian GP was "quite a defining moment for Sebastian".

The FIA have revealed further details of the criteria that will be used when issuing super licences to new drivers from 2016.
A new points system will be introduced with greater weighting given to certain championships and drivers will be required to accumulate 40 points during the three seasons prior to application.
Drivers will also have to hold a valid road driving licence, be at least 18 years of age and have completed at least 300km of running in a representative F1 car.
The new regulations were ratified in December and, had they been in place this year, would have prevented the debut of Max Verstappen in Australia. The Dutchman has completed just a single season in junior formula and his third-place finish in European F3 would have given him just 20 points.
So a bit of an admission the FIA isn't too happy with inexperienced youngsters being given an F1 seat .

But the way I see it Mercedes are the only team that can enter a 2014 engine with a hope of winning and then at some point when the others have caught up enter there 2015 engineBe funny if Mercedes use their tokens to improve their power plants by the same amount as Ferrenault!
Each to their own but I'd rather watch the Indy 500 over the Monaco GP.
