Working out what to charge (local paper)

I've been asked about a local paper publishing some of my photos from away games for a NPL team. (Their staffer covers the home games, but doesn't travel to away games).

Can anyone give me pointers as to how to cost this or a rough idea of the sort of price I might expect.

Obviously I know people are rightly protective of their deals so if you'd rather pm me it will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Is it a case of asking them of what their "usual" rates are?

I've just got no idea where to start?

Each paper will be different so its best to go with standard rates they offer.

I've known some of the local rags around here pay as little as £10 per image used

Ask them what their rates are then try and negotiate up from there
