protectors

Hi all I would appreciate some insight and suggestions? I bought a new pair of walking shoes and they are comfortable but had an issue of rubbing where the cushioning caused soreness (abrasion wounds) on the achilles tendon :( I have a vague memory of seeing that you can get 'heel protectors'...
