£20k budget - what would you spend it on?

I would buy:

Nikon D4s
Nikon D810
Nikon 70-200mm
Nikon 35mm 1.4
Nikon 50mm 1.4
Nikon 105mm
Nikon 24-70mm

Then spend the rest on travel or possibly buy a small motorhome and travel round the UK - there is so much of this country that I haven't seen yet :)

Sony RX1R and £18k to travel.

A few nights in New York, hop over to Chicago then spend a few weeks driving Route 66 would be first on the list. If I can squeeze in a week in Norway and a city break in Hong Kong I would be a happy boy.

I was going to suggest a 1DX, 200-400, 800 combo but that comes in at £23.5k. Hoepfully I'd be able to haggle it down...

6D, 16-35 F4, 24-70 F2.8, 70-300L, 17mm TSE, a 35, 50Art, 85L, 135L, 200L, Sigma 105, Gitzo tripod, couple of Yongnuo guns, wireless triggers and wired remote intervalometer, Lee filters - a couple of ND grads a couple of polarisers - not Lee and an X100sand a couple of Billingham bags and maybe an F stop rucksack. The rest I'd spend on a holiday some jewellery for my wife and the rest on Betty Stoggs.

to be honest you don't need the 800 - the 1DX will AF at f8 , so you could just use a doubler on the 200-400 ;)

The gear is useless without the subject matter. I like landscapes and cityscapes.

I'd buy, all over again. A low count D800. A tripod and 3 way head. A Nikkor 24-70 F2.8 and 70-200mm F4. a reasonable bag and PC/Mac with decent monitor. You're probably at £7k for that lot. Blow the rest on travel to Italy/Greece/Spain as these are the places that interest me.

D4S, the "Holy Trinity" of 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200 f/2.8 lenses. Add in a couple of primes (35, 50, 85 f/1.4) and with the rest it would be various bits of lighting and camera bag!

Hmmmm
First I'd make the touch choice weather to stick with Canon. Right now the only reason I would do that is my favourite lens - the 35mm F2 IS.

Assuming I did, however...

I'd pick up
Sigma 120-300mm S + TC's (Would love a Canon super tele, but doubt I would use it enough)
Canon 16-35mm F4 IS
Canon 100m F2.8L IS Macro
Canon 14mm F2.8L
Canon 135mm F2
Canon 1dx
2x EX-600 RT
ST-E3

Then I would bank the rest and see how I got on.
