I'm in agreement with Matt on this one.
You need a high vantage point with something to look down on, looking out on something just doesn't work very well with the technique.
Well done for having a go though.

The reason being that it makes it easier to fake a tight focal plane. If you look at the railing posts on the dock edge, the bottom is blurred but the tops are sharp - but they are on the same focal plane. With a higher view point, not only does it start out with a greater sense of Gulliver looking down on the tiny town, the processing required to fake the effect becomes easier.
