Yes
right then guy and girls ive been researching searching and searching.
ive read so many conflicting views and little price info im going crazy :bonk:.

my options are...

(1) Canon 28-105mm EF USM MK1 (7 blade) £120 (second hand)
- after reading here im inclinded to think this is a good buy? i cant find any other prices than this one though?

(2) Canon 28-135 USM IS £260 (second hand)
- i like the idea of the IS but twice the price obviously

(3) Canon 24-105 L £650 (second hand)
- obviously a completely different lens, and id have to wait a bit.

(4) 17-50 2.8 / 17-55 2.8 IS / 24-70 2.8
-just a few of the other lenses ive narrowed the 100s down till.

EDIT: having read this i feel quite put off both the 28-105 and the 28-135.

A bit of background.... Im currently using a 400D and will be for a while, i have a 50mm 1.8 and pair of kit lenses, getting to the point where i feel limited by the kit lenses.
I shoot a lot of landscapes manly, but have been second tog at a wedding and im helping out at a ball this week with a plan to do more and some student club / bar type shot.

:bang::bonk::bang: SAVE ME PLEASE

Based on your use I would discount the 28-XXX lenses you listed. 28mm on a standard zoom/crop body is just not wide enough.

24mm would be just wide enough.

If it were my money in your situation I would probably be buying a used 17-50 F2.8 now while saving for the 17-55mm F2.8 IS
