hi guys

just been looking at gettting a prime and was thinking of minolta 50mm 1.7 can you tell me what kind of money i should be spending on one

gear sony a200 kit lens

thanks

I got my 28mm Minolta F2.8 prime today and It's a good little lens. It does pick up reflections quite easily but I guess that's a trait of most primes due to their overly convex lens shape. Here's a few samples from mine.

What difference does F1.7 make as oppose to F2.8 btw?

Picked mine up for 81 quid off of ebay. Not a spectactular deal but pretty good none the less. Especially as the sony version which is near enough identical sells for 177 quid on Warehouse Express.

well so where are saying get the minolta one would you say 125 is too much for a so called cracking lens ???? is this just too much or am i just tight lol

The Sony 50mm SAM on Warehouse Express does seem a good deal considering what you're getting. However, you can pick up the minoltas a bit more cheaply I think.

Here is a minolta 24mm which is going damn cheap  Apparently they're fantastic lenses.

Still a very good lens. I didn't notice that it said sigma in the description ! I wonder why it says Minolta in the auction listing then..
