Took our kids and two of their friends to the zoo at the weekend. Needed to have eyes in the back of my head so photo opportunities had to be rather hurried but managed to get these:

Really like the pelican shot, like how there is shadows on the body of water in the background. Also the bird is nice and sharp.

I think the elephant shot, which is spoilt without the whole trunk in it??? May just be me on that one....also the ear is chopped off ever so slightly. Saying that the detail of hairs is excellent.

Love the first penguin shot - purely for the comical expression. Nice use of DoF.

Nice eye detail on 2nd Humboldt too.

Agreed on the elephant's ear, I wish I'd had all of it in shot. As regards the trunk, I was trying to capture the elephant's face principally, particularly the eye, so the trunk had to be compromised.
