just to put this to bed ,i,m being driven mad on flickr by someone asking me questions re his set-up .i am not sure my self so i'll throw it open .

the lad has a nikon D3200 and a sigma 50-500mm lens ,and he doesn't seem to be able to get decent shots .if my memory serves me rightly the d3200 does not have a built in motor so will it drive A/F this lens properly or is it just a mis-match

The D3200 doesn't have a motor but I'm sure that the Sigma does so it shouldn't be an issue.

The Sigma 50-500 is an HSM lens so it should work fine with the D3200.

However, there is a lot of technique involved in getting good shots at that focal distance with a wholly average lens that doesn't have vibration control...

If the Sigma doesn't and the Nikon doesn't it wouldn't AF at all.
