A quick test shot

Hi guys, I'm shooting a band this sunday and its going to be a huge shoot.. abandoned warehouse, smoke machines, fire etc so it should be a good day.

I went with the singer of the band this week to check out the location and took a couple of quick test shots with just the one strobe i had on me at the time.

I prefer the first, but it looks like he is holding a cigar rather than a mic

Not your fault I know, but maybe something he could work on to ensure he likes his pics?

Try taking the emphasis of the background down just a little. It is shared too much with that amazing looking guy. I can see totally where you are coming from. Just tipple the balance in favour of the singer and it would be great!

Obviously the emphasis will be on the band when i do the shoot.. but as i said this was just a test shot to test how the lighting works at the location
