af fine tine with 50mm 1.4

Hi All, I recently bought a nikon 50mm 1.4 from these forums and while i love the lens ive never been totally happy with its focus, I have been palying with af fine tune and it seems much sharper being at almost - 20 than 0.
Is this normal for a lens to be so far out? ive never had to fine tune a lens before.
This is just me sticking camera in tripod and taking a bunch of photos while adjusting incrementally, I havent used a lens adjustment chart at all although think i will when i can print one.

Don 't worry if is normal worry if you results are acceptable if your happy at minus 20 it doesn't matter!
