Another fly(boring) but taken on a compact!

Just took delivery of a Panasonic LX5 bought from this forum (thanks explora56). Took it into the garden, popped it into macro focus and took the shot.

Whilst it's not anywhere near the quality of a 7D of course I'm blown away by the IQ considering it's classed as a compact.

Nice macro,these little compacts can give great results,I use a canon G12 with a filter adapter & achromatic close up filters with good results.

Fully agree with Geoff, some would argue that the small sensor allows a far greater and more usable depth of field, that larger sensor cameras just can't deliver!!! Why can't it be a DSLR replacement, it is only another tool that produces images with a very unique style - work to its strengths & you will get stunning results which sell just as well. A nice picture...
