Yep quite right Matt. A juvenile D.saundersi. They will gain more pigmentation with successive moults Collembola, unlike insects for example, will continue to moult throughout their adult lives. You can still make out the beginnings of the "cross" type patch on the abdomen and the sudden colour change along the antenna - indicative of this species (I tend to rely more on the antenna colouring as I've seen a lot of variety in the rear patch, and you could easily mistake some ornata species for saundersi).

As Timmy says paterning around the body changes an awful lot but the antenna pattern remains it is what confused me when I started Springtails between it and ornata.
