Sometimes, Dai, you're just too close to get the whole fella in
I suspect that I was very close to the nest, which is why he was so attentive. Highly unusual behaviour.
Here he is again from a few feet further back ...
One of the caveats of using prime lenses is that if you want to change the crop you have to move your feet and when you're not in a hide there's always a strong risk of disturbing the subject. I was very suprised that I was alllowed to approach that close, to be honest.
