Ashlee asked me to take a few shots (probably for facebook :))
so we nipped down to Hythe seafront as the sun was out.

Taken with my 450d & kit lens & then adjusted in Lightroom & Cs3.

I am happy with them on my laptop but do they look ok to you guys?

Comments & advice very welcome.

First one is ok. The sun looks way too bright though - a sunny day is not always a sign that you should rush out and get some pictures :)

I'm also thinking the focus is in the wrong place on number one with her arm looking sharp at the expense of her face. I like the composition though.

As above, arm is in focus, so something to keep an eye on in the future.

As the light is a bit harsh, better to move in the shade similar to the second picture. But the bright spot on the nose is a bit distracting.

I'd personally try for good eye contact and a smily shot. I'd recommend you have a look at portrait pictures in magazines and see what it is you like about them. Then try again.
