Got up early (well early-ish) to head down to the river this morning to see what was about. Found some nice beetles...

Very much like #2. Is #1 a stack? (It looks like the head and almost all of the abdomen are in focus but half the thorax and a little of the front of the abdomen isn't.... Ah, 2 images I now notice at flickr. That makes sense.)

Yeah annoying that patch in the middle. The one with the head in focus had the body at an angle where you couldn't really see it, and the one with the body in focus obviously had a blurry head. Unfortunately where they meet they were both oof so could have done with a third one really

It's a shame but I liked the final composition so I guess I'll have to live with it. I have some more I've yet to process so might be able to find a better single shot.

Not much chance of stacking here. The sun comes up early and it gets hot very quickly. Everything moves with a purpose and seemingly at twice the speed as they do in the UK! It's funny really as for the people, the opposite is true
