Been playing with flash today. Not something I've done a lot of but thought today would be a good chance to try it out and try to overpower daylight - worked to a certain extent I think.
This is Billy, my sisters horse.
Taken on a Nikon D7000 with Nikon 24-70 and SB600
Any comments and crit welcome. I know his nose is a bit dark compared to the background - doesn't look too bad though viewed properly (not through Flickr)

a bit of a levels tweak will bring the horse out a little more from the background,
but actually I quite like it as is.
Its a moody portrait, that works well IMO

Yeah I've done another version where the background is much better - will put it up later for comparison.

Better version - Photobucket still makes it look a bit darker than the proper version but I think I'm happier with this version

Nice edit it does bring out a little more detail
But I like both TBH
