I know that it’s difficult to compose these sorts of images, but the door would have been better closed I feel. Lose the distracting background and shadows.

I like it as it is, the subject is well separated from the background, the background is low contrast and out of focus so doesn't draw the eye and the background adds a feeling of depth ans makes it more lifelike an natural.

Great photo . . . a bit more of a blurry background either lens or post would IMHO make it a bit better. Those lines in the shadow on the door frame behind the right elbow I'd smooth out too, but all nit picking - Great subject and great photo.
