Black and White Portrait

Hi all,

This is my first portrait post so be kind. I took this at a friends 50th party and its her dad (I was doing a set of photo's as a present) the shot was grabbed with a nifty 50 and hotshoe 430EXII with a featherlight on it.
What are peoples thoughts, don't mind harsh crit, and any help will be appreciated as I really like playing with portraits.

All the editing is a BnW conversion in Lightroom and increasing the contrast, maybe a bit of histogram fiddling.

I like this shot, my only criticism would be that focus appears slightly sharper on the side of the forehead than on the eyeball. Fortunately it isn't far enough out to ruin the shot.

tis, only just noticed but it is, unfortunately it was a grab shot as he was talking to my sis at the time
