Looks like you struck lucky with the weather! Last time I was there the sun came out for about two minutes before the last bird flew away about 8 am!

We saw females elsewhere but this was a male only disco

Cracking set.Looks like you came across the same bird as I did.He was on the edge of the lek near the road on his own when I got him last week.

Two females turned up while I was there. The males became quite frenzied. It wasn't long before the females flew off again, hotly pursued by (presumably) the chosen male.

Sounds very likely, we were there a couple of weeks ago and very lucky with the weather. What the photos can't repeat is the wonderful noises these birds make, a wonderful experience
