Blackpool

Took a few shots in Blackpool a while ago and thought they deserved a share. Any criticism received with thanks.

1) My favourite of the set. I have this shot framed.

2) I liked the sky in this shot, thought about cloning out the birds too. I feel this needs a boost though, any ideas how?

3) The next 2 show colour and B&W versions. I also tried a landscape crop, but couldn't get the shot to work quite right.

5) These 2 shots show my progression into the first shot, which as I said I like the most.

First is interesting, sort of abstract ...

As for the second one, you will often if not always lose contrast shooting into the sun, sometimes using a polariser or ND can help, sometimes needs a little lift in PP. Using an ND grad would have pulled more detail out of the sky too. And watch your horizons too

Thanks for the comments, I do need to get better with filters, so that is a project for the future. And horizons too...
