Locals in cheddar are raising money to build the biggest skate park in the south west, I went to help with promotion, here is some of the shots i managed to get. The lighting in the park is very limited and i only had the onboard flash to play with. C+C welcome - The event is in April, any suggestions on how I can improve on my lighting without losing quality ready for the day??

Skateparks are a nightmare for lighting, maybe try upping your ISO and see what you can get. If your not using flash though, 1/500 sec is min really for BMX/Skate stuff.

My main criticism is the fact that in most of the shots there is no path of where the rider has been or is going to. This is most evident on 2, 3 and 7. Try to step back a bit and get the whole of the ramps in.

Thanks for your comments, I think i will go again to get used to the lighting there, I will post the final pics after the event - hopefully there will be some improvement.
Spencer - there are some smaller ramps there (about 3/4 ft) depending on how young your son is, im sure he will love it :)
Your more than welcome to come down for the event, second weekend in April.

Its a BMX competition trying to raise money for us to build a skatepark in cheddar for all ages. i'll let you know the exact date when i get home.
some more details are on facebook and cheddarskatepark.co.uk if your interested. :)

LOL Is this some sort of gravity defying bike the guy is riding. The first one looks like he is riding a wall.
