Canon 5Dmk2 in M mode, how do I change aperture?

I thought it would be as simple as using the large wheel on the back but it doesnt seem to change the apature setting. Any ideas?

does it have two on positions on the power switch. the 40d, you need to push the lever all the way up to the line to activate the dial. ie above 'ON'

Fletch is correct, it does have two "on" positions. Push it up to the line rather than on to get the wheel to work

Not necessarily, there have been some defects with the 5Dmk2 with people not being able to change aperture when in M mode.
Heard a couple of things about it at work.

I think it's just to stop you from knocking the wheel but in all honesty I don't know

It's in the manual under setting BULB exposures.

Isn't it the same for adjusting exposure compensation too?

I can't remember... i always have my 'power' switch in position 2.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that that's the reason why it has the two positions. You can't accidentally apply EC unless you've put it "fully on".
