Struggling to find a 55-250mm Canon lens on mpbp but for the 55 -200mm is this Lens any good?

Wex have got two used 55-250mm is lenses for £90 each. Lce have one for £99 and ffordes and skears have copies for £139. Plenty about

Just bought a mk2 IS off ebay brand new uk stock for less than £100. Arrived within 2 days and not a white box version.

There is a mint and excellent condition one for £84 and 89 I've seen. Mk1 version. I'm assuming the only difference is aesthetics?

Yes, the lens itself is virtually the same, my daughter has the mkI and gets very good results with it.
I looked at the mkII when it came out as a possible upgrade, but decided it wasn't worth the cost as it was virtually the same ...
