Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM

Do you need f2.8? Will you be shooting mainly astro shots and/or dark interiors where flash and/or tripods aren't allowed. If the answer to the second question is 'No' then the answer to the first quation is 'No' and you can save some cash by getting the 10-18.

At ultra-wide angles the DoF is so huge that changing from f2.8 to f4.5 has little effect on it.

For this type of lens I'll mainly be shooting indoors in boarded up, abandoned buildings, so it can be very dark in places. However as you have pointed out, I can take a tripod and flash.
 
I Have taken the plunge and just ordered this lens.

Again like the rest i will update upon its arrival.
