These are the entries I am thinking of using for my City and Guilds 1

I am posting them in their raw state first, then the 2 I have "played" with.

Any advice on what to do etc, or even if you dont think they will make the grade will be appreciated.

I am making 3 threads, with 1 with 3 photos on it, one with 2, and I am undecided so a separate thread for that.

I have to submit 6.

I have broken it down into 3 threads as I didnt want to over load any one.

Thanks

with this, I have just cropped it and upped the saturation on the red

I love the colour of the first one. Butterflies are so lovely to take pictures of don't you think? Where did you take your photo's?

Hi, thanks.

I have an annual pass for Bristol Zoo, these were taken there. I am off to Chester at end of March and I see they have a nice butterfly house too.

the first one is my favourite as well.

i think the first would look better the right way up.

I have been debating that for a while, he was hanging upside down like that when I took it, I have been looking at it both ways around.

You have made me think again now.

Thanks

Oh thank you :)

Hi. I'd invert #1 as has been suggested but may be make it portrait shape. And then tone down the light parts of the other two images. One thing to avoid is having the brightest part of the image at the edge of the picture. Nice shots, though.

thanks so much, I will go and play.

Great shots well done could i ask what lens was used

these were taken with a Nikon 18-55 VR, the standard one that came with the body. I have a new thread, with some other photos, those were either taken with the same lens, but with some very cheao macro adaptors,

[[http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/52mm-Close-Up..._CameraLensesFilters_JN&hash=item2a0607513b]], these, they were dirt cheap and I am sure there are far better out there, but for the price they are almost disposable, they def did the job for me, although I coildnt get the 10* to work but that may have been just me.

I use their £3 filters to protect my lenses as well.

[[http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=298667 here, there are a few more on flikr as well]]

The only other lens used, was the one with the 2 orange butterflies, that was taken with a 55-200.
