Nice shots, my only nit with the first is the closest headlight is out of the range of the DoF and I would possibly try and throw more light on it. Usually I would recommend shooting from a lower angle, but here I suppose it is better to show the subjects are small by shooting from above. This is further conveyed by the OOF areas, so feel free to ignore my initial complaint

I do agree with the near headlight being out of focus.

Maybe tomorrow, I might try a better angle.

Yes I think you are correct in saying the shadows are a little distracting.

The model was shot on the window sill on paper and with paper against the window. I find that I like this angle of the model.

I like the reflection the wheels give on the first photo.
